Introduction:
A few days ago, while spending time on the internet, a short video caught my attention. In this video, the creator had presented a summary of an experimental analysis by Professor Katie Hinde related to a Biological Phenomenon.Personally, I found this effort by the creator highly commendable for three reasons. First, it was an academic topic, second, the video was made with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and third, this video reminded me of a judicial decision of Imam Ali (A.S) which is related to this research. I will first narrate the incident of Maula and then present the biological phenomenon. The Incident and Appearance in the Court of Maula Ali (A.S):
It is mentioned in Tahdhib al-Ahkam, Volume 6, Page 361, in the chapter of Qadaya wal Ahkam by Shaykh al-Taifah al-Tusi and in Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih by Shaykh al-Saduq that a man had two slave-girls.
By chance, both gave birth on the same night; one gave birth to a boy and the other gave birth to a girl. The slave-girl who had given birth to a girl, out of jealousy or greed, swapped her girl with the other one's boy in the darkness of the night and claimed: "The boy is mine and the girl is yours."
The other woman became extremely distressed and kept saying the boy was hers, but there was no witness present. When the matter could not be resolved, it was brought to the court of Amir al-Mu'minin, Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S).Maula Ali's (A.S) Wise Judgment:
Maula Ali (A.S) called both women and ordered that two containers of equal weight be brought. Then he told both mothers to collect the natural food of the children [mother's milk] in those containers.
He then had both containers weighed again. The container that was heavier in weight, he gave the boy to her, and the one whose container was lighter, he declared the girl to be hers.
The Academic and Quranic Evidence for the Judgment:
When he was asked the reason for it, he explained the wisdom in the light of the Holy Quran, Imam Alis (AS) said:
"LILZ-ZAKARI MISLU HAZZIL UNSAYAYN"
Translation: The share of the male is equal to the share of two females.
Quranic Reference:
YUSIKUMULLAHU FI AWLADIKUM LIZZAKARI MISLU HAZZIL UNSAYAYN
Translation: Allah commands you concerning your children: the share of a male is equal to that of two females *_[1]
He said that since a boy needs more nutrition for his upbringing and for the strengthening of his bones, Allah has placed twice as much nutrition and density in the mother's milk for a son compared to that for a daughter. Under this divine law, the true mother was identified by the weight.
Modern Clinical Research - Confirmation:
In 2008, Professor Katie Hinde was analyzing data at the California National Primate Research Center. She noticed that the milk of mothers who were raising sons had a higher amount of fat, protein and energy compared to mothers raising daughters. Katie checked her analysis several times, but every time the results were the same.[4]
She also observed that in the samples of mothers who were breastfeeding for the first time, the amount of cortisol was higher, meaning there was more immunity present in that milk. And their children grew up faster and were more sensitive.
According to Katie, mother's milk was not just building muscles but was also building personalities.
It is noteworthy that this investigation was done only eighteen years ago with modern technology, which the scientists themselves are not fully familiar with.
But no one was aware of this natural phenomenon and the miracle of mother's milk, except the one upon whom the Holy Quran was revealed and who is the heir to this Book.
