The Newlywed Wife’s Announcement of Sharia
After the marriage, Begum Sahiba, holding a translation of the Quran in her hand, said to her husband:
"Listen, I am a scholar, and we will live our lives purely according to Sharia."
The husband jumped up with joy:
"Thank God! Begum? No — I’ve received a blessing! Now the house will become Medina!"
Shariah Beginning – The Wife’s First Bet and Decree
A few days later, Begum Sahiba placed a "Shariah file" on the table and said seriously:
"Look, in Shariah, it is not obligatory for a wife to serve her mother-in-law.
And it is also the husband's duty to arrange a separate house for his wife.
So, arrange a separate house for me as soon as possible!"
The Husband’s Helplessness
The husband's eyes widened in shock. He said:
"I will arrange the house...
But what will happen to my elderly parents?
They are the light of my eyes.
How can I leave them?"
Husband's Shariah Question – Scholar’s Shariah Answer
Distressed, the husband rushed to a local scholar and said:
"Sir! My wife is a scholar. She knows the entire Sharia by heart.
But I this poor man, have forgotten how to live!"
The scholar laughed and replied:
"Son! Sharia is not just about demanding rights
it’s also about fulfilling duties and connecting hearts.
By the way, if your wife insists on strictly following Sharia…
then Sharia also permits a second marriage!" 😏
He continued:
"And Sharia also commands justice!
So, if she wants to enforce Sharia,
then you too have full Shariah authority."
The Wife’s Color Fades!
When the husband said to his wife:
"Begum! We're talking about Sharia, right?
Sharia also allows second marriage!"
Her complexion turned pale —
like the yellowed pages of an ancient book.
She quickly responded:
"Well… serving one’s in-laws is also a rewarding deed…
And what's the rush for a separate house anyway?"
Moral Conclusion: Sharia is Not a Sword , It’s a Scale
Sharia does not mean only my rights it means your rights too!
If Sharia is adopted with sincerity and balance,
the home becomes a paradise.
Humorous Comment
The husband thought to himself:
"Thankfully, Sharia allowed it
otherwise, my life would’ve been over.
Now even the scholarly Begum is in the mood to become a ‘housewife’ again!"
