Three Shariah methods of disposing of paper of Quran or holy names

Papers containing Quranic verses or the names of Allah should be disposed of respectfully. Permissible methods include giving them to recycling centers, burying them respectfully, or placing them in flowing water. It is not allowed in Sharia to burn or throw them in the trash. This ruling is agreed upon by major Shia jurists.
