Mother's Anger or God's Pleasure?

It is said that Dehkhuda's mother had a very angry and quarrelsome temperament.
This situation was such that Dehkhuda never married. To serve and please his mother, he lived a solitary life without marriage or children.
Midnight Test
One night, at midnight, Dehkhuda was in a deep sleep when his mother called out:
"Bring water!"
Dehkhuda immediately got up and brought water, but unfortunately, the water was lukewarm.
Mother's Fury or Son's Perfection?
The mother smashed a glass of water on Dehkhuda’s head and said angrily:
"Why is this water hot?!"
Dehkhuda’s head cracked, and blood started flowing.
He silently went to a corner and cried bitterly.
A Complaint of Patience, But No Complaint
Dehkhuda cried out to Allah:
"O Lord! What sin have I committed?
For the sake of my mother’s pleasure, I gave up the joys of life.
I ended my lineage. I accepted loneliness.
Is this the reward for such a sacrifice?
O Allah! Do not take away my patience. Help me maintain it."
Dream of Light, the Gift of Patience
That very night, he saw in a dream that green light emerged from his wounded head and spread throughout his body.
A luminous voice was heard:
"Get up! You showed patience in your mother’s service —
We have granted you the treasure of knowledge!"
Without Descendants, But the Father of History!
The very next day, Dehkhuda began a great scholarly project in Iranian history:
📘 Dehkhoda Dictionary
📜 Proverbs and Sayings
He compiled works that remain foundational in the academic world even today.
Though Dehkhuda remained childless, his name lived on for generations.
Lesson:
1 A mother’s service is never wasted.
2 The fruit of patience is always sweet.
3 Some relationships come as a test, but overcoming them brings one closer to God.
4 In the eyes of Allah, sincerity and service are of immense value.
